Do I need a credit card to start?

No. Starter is free and stays free. Add a card only when you want bank sync and automatic categorization.

What counts as an AI merchant lookup?

A merchant lookup is a web-researched categorization for an unfamiliar vendor or merchant name. Routine automatic categorization is included separately.

What AI features are included on each plan?

Automatic categorization and receipt scanning are available on Pro and Agency. Starter users categorize manually and can upgrade at any time. Pro offers standard AI capacity; Agency gets priority capacity for higher-volume workflows.

Is this a real double-entry system?

Yes. Prosper maintains a full general ledger and chart of accounts so your CPA gets clean, traceable books they can work from directly.

Who is Prosper NOT for?

Inventory-heavy retail (use Shopify/NetSuite). Large payroll teams needing native processing (use Rippling or Gusto; we only import journal entries). Cash-only businesses without digital records.
